Standing resolutely on her left leg formerly holding a spear in her right hand. Wearing a chiton falling in long folds over the right knee and tucked in at the waist, centred by a medusa emblem.
Nicolaes Millich1629-1699
Dutch sculptor Nicolaes Milich was a was born in Antwerp 1629 and became 1657-1658 master sculptor in Antwerp´s Guild of Saint Luke. He came to spend most of his life in Sweden in the periods between 1669-1676 and 1682-1688. Among his most prominent work is the statue carvings and decorations in the staircase and hall of Drottningholm Palace.
