A Directoire Mantle clock by Manière



Charles-Guillaume Manière  -1812


Charles-Guillaume Manière  was the son of Master clockmaker in Paris and became master himself in 1778.

Charles-Guillaume Manière worked for the Parisian ”Marchands-merciers” Dominique Daguerre and Francois Darnault. Most of the cases for his clocks were made by famous bronze casters of the time, such as Pierre Phillipe Thomire and Francois Remond.

Work by Charles-Guillaume Manière can be found in some of the finest museum collections in the world, among them the J.Paul Getty Museum.
