Plaster cast sculpture after the original of Ptolemy II, 19th to early 20th century

Ptolemy II (Ruler of Egypt 323-282 BC) standing with a youthful face wearing a nemes-headcloth fronted by a uraeus  the symbol of the goddess Wadjet. Striding forward in the traditional Egyptian stance with the left leg advanced and both arms firmly at the sides holding an ankh-sign in each hand. The supporting back-pillar with with hieroglyphics.
